Christmas packages for Nicosia children

‘Love packages’ including food vouchers totalling €23,000 were distributed by the Nicosia mayor to 580 low income children at Nicosia primary schools on Monday.

Each package contained a voucher worth €40 for the purchase of food over Christmas and the New Year. In addition, the children are allowed free use of the Christmas children playground currently operating on Makarios Avenue. Children and their parents can also attend the Christmas children’s performance ‘The Quiltmaker’s Gift’ at the Maskarini theatre on December 19 for free.

The money was donated by betting agency OPAP, LIDL Cyprus and the charitable company ‘Embrace’ which contributed €12,000, €5,800 and €5,400 respectively.
