Keep walking

By Maria Gregoriou

The Cyprus Strollers start the year off with a walk that is right up any sea lover’s street.

The hiking group, which has expanded rapidly since its conception in autumn 2014, will set off to Larnaca on Sunday where you can enjoy a walk along the Oroklini/ Dhekelia coastline.

The linear path will last for around two hours and is on flat ground, making it easy.

The group will set off at Oroklini, reach Dhekelia and then walk back along the same path. You will be walking on a variety of surfaces, including sand, pebbles, wood, cement and soil, so make sure you are wearing appropriate and comfy footwear.

The path should be filled with seagulls, so why not take some bread along to get them to come a bit closer.

The walk will start at 10.45am with the group’s leader Xenophon Hasparis leading. If you would like to join in the car ride from Nicosia then you should be at the Handicrafts Centre, Nicosia by 9.45am. Even if there is light rain, the walk will still go ahead.

After the walk, the group will go for a meal at a seafood tavern. If you are planning on staying for the meal do let Hasparis know by email on [email protected] by Friday, so he can book in advance.
