Arrested for drugs possession

TWO men, a 28-year-old and a 53-year-old, were arrested on Friday morning in Paphos in connection with the illegal possession and use of drugs.

Their car was stopped for inspection by members of the Cyprus Drug Squad (YKAN) near the Konia roundabout at 8.15am.

During the search, ten cartons of duty free cigarettes, three grams of cocaine and a quantity of methamphetamine was found and seized.

The amount of €1,385 belonging to the 28-year-old was also confiscated. According to police, the suspect started to shout and attack members of the drug squad before he was arrested.

When the homes of the two men were searched, a quantity of synthetic drugs and the amount of €3,230 was found in the 28-year-old man’s residence and seized as evidence.
