Limassol betting shop owner beaten in own home

A betting shop owner from Limassol was hospitalised on Saturday night after four armed and masked men broke into his house in Kolossi and beat him up.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, the 34-year-old was at home when the four men stormed into the house at around 11pm, beat him up and fled.

After calling for help, he was taken to a private clinic and treated for cuts and bruises to various parts of his body.

According to what he told police, one of the perpetrators was holding knife and another gun. He also said he did not suspect anyone over the attack.

Police are investigating assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, threats with a knife, illegal entry into a residence, and conspiracy to commit felony.
