Police seize possible steroid stash from couple at airport

Two people, a man and a woman aged 26 and 30 respectively were arrested at Larnaca airport on Sunday with what authorities believe were separate stashes of anabolic steroids.

Police did not name the country from where the pair had arrived on the early-morning flight, only that a customs search of their luggage revealed the alleged contraband.

A police report said customs officers found a total of 1,476 pills and 23 boxes containing ampoules in the man’s bags and a total of 1,610 pills and 8 boxes with ampoules in the woman’s.

The two were interorgated but released until the state lab can make a determination as to the substance.

Later on Sunday a 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case.
