Fires damage warehouse in Nicosia, home in Aradippou

Large losses were caused by a fire which broke out on three successive premises in Latsia in Nicosia, two workshops and a warehouse, around 1.45am on Tuesday.

A truck and the contents of the warehouse were destroyed in the fire. On the premises there were also cars for repair which were damaged.

The exact amount of the damage and the causes of the fire are not yet known.

Another fire burnt part of a wooden roof of a house in Aradippou in Larnaca on Monday evening.

The fire was reported at 9.30pm and after extinguishing it the fire brigade investigated the cause. It was found that the blaze originated in the chimney of the fireplace.

The residents of the house managed to get out and were not any immediate danger.

The amount of damage has not yet been calculated and it is not yet clear if it is covered by insurance.
