Turning it all the way up

Get ready to rock the Mason Bar tomorrow when local DJ Demi Consta will be holding nothing back – in musical terms anyway.

Consta studied classical guitar, music theory, and took singing lessons from a very early age. As she grew up, so did her passion for music. She would spend hours in record shops and also spend whatever money she had on enlarging her collection.

During some of these many hours one day, she came across electronic music and that was it, it was love at first sound.

This new sound brought together all the elements of the music she had heard so far while also introducing her to a whole new beast of a sound.

With this newfound passion, she took to the DJ stage in 2014. She started by playing at the lounge bar/ restaurant Sushi La once a week. Within only a few months she had a number of gigs lined up all over the island, and even managed to grab a residency at Ammos Beach Bar in Larnaca.

Last year she played opening sets for Tube & Berger, Dennis Ferrer, Jan Blomqvist, Echonomist, Adrianos Papadeas, and heavyweight Solomun. She also had her first international gig last year at two of Athens’ hottest nightspots, Terazza and Dabbous.

The DJ adapts her sound to suit any circumstance, from a beach party to a classy lounge bar, so those techno and house beats are sure to be coming at ya louder than ever tomorrow night.
