Family deny charges in cocaine case

A Paphos woman, her two children, and another man, 39, on Monday pleaded not guilty to charges of trafficking 650 grammes of cocaine.

The 52-year-old mother, along with her 33-year-old daughter, and son, 24, were arrested in December last year in the village of Marathounta in connection with the possession with intent to supply of 650 grammes of cocaine.

The fourth defendant is the daughter’s partner.

The Criminal Court adjourned until February 25.

The three were released on Monday after signing a €75,000 bail bond each. They surrendered all travel documents and must report to a police station three times a week.

The 39-year-old will remain in custody until the trial.
