Fraud suspect extradited from UK to Cyprus

A 28-year-old man was extradited to Cyprus on Tuesday in connection with allegations of fraud and money laundering.

A European arrest warrant had been issued by Cyprus in November 2014 following a complaint about a website the man maintained, police said.

According to the complaint, credit card holders bought tickets for football matches for the Brazilian World Cup through the website, but never received their tickets.

On August 19, 2015, the 28-year-old was arrested by authorities in the UK under the European warrant, and he was extradited to Cyprus on Tuesday.
