Axe-wielding thieves in carnival masks rob bakery

Two individuals who had covered their faces with carnival masks and armed with axes robbed a bakery in Anavargos, Paphos, at 4am on Thursday.

When the robbers entered the bakery, which operates 24 hours a day, the only employee present panicked and run to the back of the shop where she hid.

The two thieves opened the cash register, grabbed the proceeds of the evening, and fled the scene.

Police collected evidence from the scene in a bid to track down the perpetrators.
