Tourists lost and found in Troodos

Police rescued a group of tourists who found themselves stranded in a dangerous area in the Troodos mountains on Friday, a police report said.

According to the report, police were informed at around noon Friday that a group of eight tourists, as well as their guide, had been trapped in a dangerous area of the Troodos mountains, which they had been visiting.

Due to the adverse weather conditions in the area, their car was immobilised, and orientation was not possible due to snow covering their surroundings.

A search and rescue team was set up by members of the Troodos police, and their efforts paid off two hours later, when the tourists were found in three separate locations in the Vryses area.

The tourists were found in good health and taken by police to the Troodos police station.
