Batch of raw almonds withdrawn, consumer warning

The health ministry on Sunday advised consumers in possession of a particular batch of Amalia raw almonds not to use them as they contained levels of aflatoxins beyond permitted limits.

The batch number is A336 and the 200g packages carry an expiry date of 01/12/2016.

The ministry said it had already informed the company that packs and distributes the product on the Cyprus market and issued instructions for the immediate withdrawal of the entire quantity of the consignment.

“However, as some of the specific batch may already in the possession of consumers, they are advised to avoid consuming the almonds and return them to where they were purchased from, the ministry said.
