Drunk driver damages cars

Archived photo

A drunk driver crashed and caused damage to four cars parked in a Kolossi street on Sunday evening.

At around 9.15pm the car, driven by a 64-year-old resident of Limassol, veered off course and damaged two cars which were parked in the street.

The vehicle then moved to the right, hit a bin and crashed into a wall. From the impact, the bin moved and damaged another two parked cars.

At the scene of the accident, the man underwent a breath test which indicated 102 micrograms (μg) per 100 millilitres of breath instead of 22μg, which is the legal limit. Subsequently blood was taken from the driver to be tested.

The 64-year-old was slightly injured by the crash. He was transferred to Limassol General Hospital, where he received first aid and was released.
