Man attacked in Paphos

A 51-year-old man from Nicosia was attacked and wounded on Friday afternoon in Paphos when unknown perpetrators tried to rob him.

The victim was leaving a building complex in Kato Paphos at around 3.30pm when he was attacked by three persons who threw him to the ground and beat him up while trying to get hold of a bag he was holding.

One of them reportedly had a spray which he tried to use against the 51-year-old, but failed.

Neighbours rushed to the scene to help, whereupon the attackers ran away.

The wounded man was taken to Paphos General hospital, where he received first aid.

According to a description given to police, one of the perpetrators is 1.95m tall of medium build, with short black hair. He was wearing black sports clothing with a red line at the bottom.

The other two are described as being 1.70m tall, medium build and wearing  black tracksuits. They had covered their heads with the hoods of their tracksuits.
