Get down with it

On Sunday, Greek DJ Echonomist will be bringing all you music and beach lovers closer to the memory of what it is like to party on the beach, as he will be helping you strut your dance stuff at Ammos Beach Bar in Larnaca.

Echonomist was given a basic synthesiser by his parents at a young age, and was also supplied with music lessons so he could entertain the family on Sundays. Something from those Sunday performances must have stuck, as the DJ has gone from trying to make strange noises on his synthesiser to performing electronic dance music to audiences all over the world.

He started out by performing live music and vocal sessions with his band, as well as recording three studio albums. After that he spread his DJ wings and started bringing his own skills on the decks up to scratch while experimenting with electronic dance music. It wasn’t long until his own solo projects began to emerge.

Sixteen years later, and the man behind the music is still continuing his journey of musical creativity and has evolved into a professional DJ, producer and live performer.

He doesn’t necessarily stick to one style, but his quality is never compromised. His diverse musical styles place him amongst the most prolific producers whether electronic, dance or abstract.

Get ready to get more than you bargained for with this DJ because he is known to be somewhat interactive with his audience and to put a dynamic twist on what you will be moving your feet around to on the dance floor.
