Drunk driver, attacked officers, police said

A 24-year-old resident of Paphos was arrested on Thursday morning after he attacked a police officer and resisted arrest, police said.

According to police, the fracas happened when the man’s car was stopped for a routine check.  An axe was found when the car was eventually searched.

The 24-year-old was taken to Paphos police station where he underwent a breathalyser test. The result indicated 58mg instead of 22mg, which is the legal limit.

The 24 man was expected to be charged in writing and summoned later.
