February registered jobless figure drops, Cystat says

One of the main drivers of the strong economic outlook is the ongoing improvements in the domestic labour market

The number of registered unemployed fell in February 8.5 per cent to 45,961 compared to the respective month of 2015 and by 8 persons compared to January, the statistical service said.

The seasonally adjusted number of people without a job registered at the district employment offices, fell by 299 to 41,238, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Thursday.

The February reduction in the number of unemployed compared to a year before, resulted from a drop in the number of jobseekers in construction by 1,231, public administration by 903, manufacturing by 690, commerce by 586, financial services and insurance by 3773 and media by 297, Cystat said.
