Failed bomb attempt at Limassol garage

An explosive device which was detonated but did not go off, was located Thursday morning outside a car repair shop in Ypsonas, in Limassol.

The device was found by the workshop’s 51-year old owner at around 7.45am at the entrance. He alerted the police.

Members of the Limassol CID and the police bomb squad who went to the scene, said the device was an improvised explosive mechanism, which was detonated but failed to explode. It was deactivated by the bomb squad.
