Learning from a master

Our island has no shortage of cats, and their slow movements and arched-shaped poses seem almost motionless at times – so much so that they are perfect subjects for artists.

One artist who loves to use watercolours to frame cats on canvas is Endre Penovac, who will run a four-day workshop from April 30 until May 3 at the Almyra Hotel in Paphos.

Penovac is a Serbian artist and also a recognised watercolor master.

He has been praised for his wet paper technique, his outstanding animal, landscape and still life paintings, and his ability to turn a workshop into a thought process that goes behind what you put on paper.

The workshop is divided into four-hour sessions over the four-days and registration must be done until March 31 by completing the form found at
