Motorcyclists on Thursday set off on a four-day ‘love route’ aiming to travel to all districts to collect funds in support of the ‘One dream One wish’ association which seeks to fulfill the wishes of children with cancer.

The ‘love route’, now in its 16th consecutive year, started early Thursday morning from the Cyprus Sports Organisation’s headquarters in Nicosia. Riders from 12 motorcycle clubs joined forces once more for the fundraiser, which is being organised in cooperation with the police motorcycle squad.

The goal of the ‘love route’ is to raise public awareness about the multiple problems facing children with cancer and to financially support of the charitable work of ‘One dream One Wish ‘ association.

The official start of the ‘love route’ will be launched by the Nicosia mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis on Saturday at 8.30 am at the municipal car park of D’Avila moat.

On Thursday and Friday, the motorcyclists, accompanied by ‘One dream One wish’ volunteers, will drive through schools in all districts to collect donations, while on the weekend they will drive through communities and municipalities island wide.

“Together we can bring a smile to the faces of our young fellow citizens who are suffering. Let none of their dreams be out of reach,” the announcement said.
