New TV station next month

Alpha TV Cyprus will be up and running as of April 4, it was announced on Monday.

The station, an offshoot of the Greek Alpha TV, will offer news and entertainment shows, from Greece and Cyprus.

The station’s general manager Petros Petrou said in a press conference to introduce the new channel, that this is “perhaps the most important financial investment” that has taken place in the local media sector in recent years, as around 100 people have been hired.

The head of Greece’s Alpha TV Demetris Kontominas, said that the aim was to safeguard “the values of impartiality, objectivity and independence all the media are required to have […]”.
