Where do you live?
I’m based in Nicosia, where I live with my long-term boyfriend and our monster cat
Best childhood memory?
Building tree houses and making mud pies with my sister
Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish? What food would you really turn your nose up to?
I guess that would be Wagamama’s and their yasai yaki soba. Though in general I love anything to do with lentils or potatoes! I don’t eat meat but other than that something I wouldn’t be too excited about is okra.
What did you have for breakfast?
I don’t eat breakfast, but always start the day with coffee.
Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
In the past I would have definitely said a night person but I think I may be crossing over into being a day person now! An unexpected and random adventure.
Best book ever read?
I love so many art books and things like that, but a series of books that has stayed with me since I was young is the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. They are books that fill you with wonder and transport you to the other worlds he describes, an escapist’s ideal. Though at the same time they provide pretty heavy comment on humanity.
Favourite film of all time?
That’s a very difficult question as I love cinema and so many different films. I’m going to go with Princess Bride, which I must’ve watched a hundred times throughout my childhood. I think the comedy and story still hold up even now, even if the special effects don’t!
Favourite holiday destination?
It’s not exactly a holiday when you are helping run an art festival but the village where the Larroque Arts Festival, which I help organise, takes place every summer is incredible. A tiny little village at the base of red cliffs, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but forest and fields. Being there has a totally unique feeling of leaving everything else behind.
What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
My friend’s band’s new album. They are called Belua and the album is called As Good a Time as Any.
What is always in your fridge?
Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
Perfect set up: rural retreat somewhere beautiful and secluded, with a big painting studio flooded with light, but I’d also have a little urban getaway apartment for spending a few days at a time in a big city.
If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
Artists throughout history are popping into my head from Leonardo da Vinci to Willem de Kooning. So many fascinating people, and so much to ask them, it’s impossible to pick one. Can I fill a bar with these people?
If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
Panic, I assume, but maybe then go and lie on an empty beach somewhere and listen to the sound of the sea.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing a loved one.
Tell me a joke…
Actually maybe telling a joke is my greatest fear…
