A minute with Life & Style

A minute with Michael Antoniou Male vocalist specialising in Swing & Jazz (mostly Sinatra)

Where do you live?
In Paphos with my wife Anna and our 5-year-old son Mathew.

Best childhood memory?
Winning my first boxing match

Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish? What food would you really turn your nose up to?
We have many restaurants that we frequent, but I’d say Pizza Express, my favourite dish is penne Arrabiata. We won’t eat fast food, KFC, McDonald’s etc etc

What did you have for breakfast?
Coffee and an apple

Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
I’m a night person for sure, I always feel more positive and energetic when the sun has gone down. Perfect night out would be at a great restaurant with great food, wine, cigars and good fun company of course.

Best book ever read?
The Alchemist. I love this book for its simplicity, and how it shows in its purest form that following your dream no matter what gets in your way along the road always leads to a happy ending…

Favourite film of all time?
Terminator 2. I’ve always been a big fan of Arnie, even before he made movies, I love his humour and he has great stage presence

Favourite holiday destination? What’s your dream trip?
I love America, I think it’s the entertainment capital of the world, in particular Orlando, I’m a sucker for theme parks, and nobody does it better. My dream holiday is the Maldives, I really fancy one of those bungalows sat on stilts in the water, it looks so peaceful & relaxing…

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
Perry Como

What is always in your fridge?
Fruit and veg, oh and coffee, we always keep our ground espresso in the fridge, in a sealed container, I’m told it stays fresh for longer, who knows?

Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
I have a plot of land in the hills above a dam, with a sea-view and would love to build a log cabin there, to spend weekends…

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
I’d love to meet Muhammed Ali, I know he can’t talk now, but if he could, I’d spend hours talking to him about his career, oh I did meet him once, but only enough time to get a picture

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
I’d lock the doors, wrap my arms around my wife and son, we’d talk, kiss & hug a lot I suppose, I just can’t think of anything better…

What is your greatest fear?
Failure! Although I don’t really think about it, it’s not part of who I am, I always shoot to win.

Tell me a joke…
Why did the hedgehog cross the road? To get to his flat mate…
