Truck on fire

A truck caught fire while moving on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, destroying some €20,000 of goods, mostly hotel equipment.

The driver was on his way to Limassol when, 200 metres before the Kornos exit, he noticed that the back of the truck was on fire.

Two fire engines brought the blaze under control but it had already spread to the whole vehicle.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. It has not been ruled out that it could have been from a lit cigarette butt.
