File photo

Police on Saturday afternoon seized ten boxes containing 400 firecrackers from three teens on the Pyla Oroklini road.

The three – two 15 years old and a 14 year old – were stopped walking along the road at around 6pm. Checking the bags they were carrying, officers found the firecrackers.

The boys were charged and released to appear in court at a later date.

Firecrackers are popular in Cyprus at Easter time but are illegal.
