Fined for cigarette smuggling

A 39-year-old man from Larnaca was fined more than € 2,000 when 44 cartons of cigarettes for which he had not paid taxes were found in his house by customs authorities.

The cigarettes were found in a bedroom closet during a search of the man’s house at noon on Monday. They were seized as evidence and the 39-year-old was ordered to pay a fine of € 2,200.
