Arrested for harassing former employee

A 37-year-old man from a village in the Larnaca district has been  remanded for two days in connection with the illegal possession of a firearm and assaulting a woman.

According to the police, the 37-year-old was arrested after he was reported by a 37-year-old woman, who was his former employee, that on Wednesday, while she was in her car with her husband and her two underage children, he had tried to force them off the road with his own car.

The woman, who was working at the 37-year-old’s petrol station until June 2015, also reported that the suspect had been harassing her ever since she left her job, and had also threatened to kill her and harm her family. In another case, she reported that he had threatened her with a gun.
