Paphos man dies after his tractor overturns

A 64-year-old man from Giolou village in Paphos lost his life on Saturday night after becoming trapped under his overturned tractor while working in a field.

According to police, at 9pm Andreas Petrou was found by his wife and other relatives trapped under the vehicle. She had gone looking for him after he failed to return home.

Police, firemen and an ambulance were called to the scene. It took and hour to get to Petrou under the tractor but he was already dead.
According to his wife, he had left the house at 6pm but had not returned by almost 9pm.

She enlisted the help of relatives to go look for him.

A post mortem will be carried out on Monday to determine the exact cause of death.
