Shepherd found unconscious in ravine dies (Updated)

A 79-year-old shepherd who was found unconscious in a ravine early on Tuesday has died in Paphos general hospital.

He had gone to graze his flock in the Salamiou area on Monday night but apparently got lost. When he did not come home his wife got worried and reported his disappearance to police.

During a search of the area Paphos police found the shepherd in a ravine at around 1am on Tuesday.

As the 79-year-old was unconscious an ambulance was called which transferred him  to the hospital. He was suffering from hypothermia and kept in intensive care.  When he died he was still comatose.
