Teenagers caught with gunpowder

Two teenagers, 17 and 18, were arrested on Thursday night for possession of explosives.

According to a police report, at around 10:30 pm on Thursday, patrol cars in Kamares, Larnaca, spotted a suspicious car.

After signalling to the 18-year-old driver to pull over, policemen saw a man in the passenger seat throwing a plastic bag out the window.

The bag was found to contain gunpowder, and a search of the car produced a second plastic bag, also containing gunpowder.

The two teenagers were arrested and held in custody at the Larnaca police headquarters, while the gunpowder was seized as evidence.
