Drugs suspects remanded for another six days

Limassol court

Four suspects caught in a large drugs bust were re-remanded by the Limassol court on Saturday for further six days.

Aged 38, 45, 36 and 62, this was their second remand after they were caught in Ypsonas with 7.4 kilos of cocaine, 5.5 kilos of cannabis, 15 grammes of opium and 700 grammes of TNT explosives earlier this week.

The 62-year-old is the owner of the premises and the men aged 38 and 45 were caught when they tried to run away from police with bags containing drugs.

Officers found 32 mobile phones in the homes of the 38-year-old and 45-year-old as well as €28,820 and €7,000 respectively.

A statement made to police implicated the 36-year-old.

The arrest was a joint operation between the British sovereign area forces and Cyprus police involving 20 officers.
