Man critical after traffic accident

A 46-year-old man from Paphos is in critical condition after a traffic accident on Sunday afternoon.

The man driving on Tassos Papadopoulos road in Paphos collided with a car coming from the opposite direction at a crossing with Dimokratias and Elefterios Venizelou avenue where he attempted to turn right. Subsequently he hit two other vehicles waiting at the lights.

From the impact, the Paphos resident was seriously injured and is now in a coma. Due to the seriousness of his condition he was moved to Nicosia general hospital after originally being taken to Paphos general hospital.

The drivers of the other vehicles involved in the accident received first aid at Paphos hospital as a precaution and were released.

The exact causes of the crash are under investigation.
