BoC reduces ELA to €3.3bn, central bank says

Bank of Cyprus’s outstanding emergency liquidity assistance from the European Central Bank fell to €3.3bn or below in March from €3.4bn or below in February, the Central Bank of Cyprus said.

The central bank’s “other claims on euro area credit institutions denominated in euro,” which includes emergency liquidity assistance extended to domestic banks stood at €3.3bn in March, the supervisory authority said on Tuesday in its balance sheet posted on its website.

Bank of Cyprus’s emergency liquidity peaked at €11.6bn in April 2013.
