Company registrar extends deadline for companies to submit documents

The company registrar and official receiver has given registered companies six more months to submit documents at the department, an official said.

The registrar extended the March 31 deadline to October 31, Evi Karkoti, an official at the department said in an email in response to a Cyprus Business Mail query. Companies that failed to submit their accounts on time faced being struck off. The deadline extension concerns those which objected to being struck off.

“We will be in position to provide information on compliance after the new deadline expires,” Karkoti said, adding that the last time the department struck off companies was on January 11 this year.

The number of registered companies on March 31 was 202,764, compared to 227,840, according to the department’s website.
