Greeks bearing songs

On Saturday there are a few nightlife events taking place, just before the week ahead when the volume will be toned down with the approach of Easter.

Cypriot singer Evridiki will be performing at Vinylio Wine Etc in Limassol over the weekend at 9pm.

If you know Evridiki from her Eurovision song contest days, then you will know that her whole attitude towards music has changed and she is much more rock and roll than she used to be. So expect some rock ballads, sung in her unique voice.

Another singer who is well known for his charismatic voice is Apostolos Rizos, who will be performing in Nicosia on Saturday (he will also perform in Larnaca tomorrow if you can’t wait until Saturday). His orchestrations are what you might call unexpected, and if you know Greek bands like Pix Lux and the singer Alkinoos Ioannides, then for you the unexpected will become much more expected.

And the third choice you have for Saturday is a live performance by Greek singer Panos Mouzourakis in Paphos, who will also perform in Nicosia on Sunday.

Mouzourakis’ songs are very uplifting and his stage presence will get you in an even better mood.
