Police investigating dog shooting outside Nicosia house

78χρονος πεζός είναι το νέο θύμα της ασφάλτου στην Πάφο, ο οποίος εγκαταλείφθηκε από οδηγό διερχόμενου οχήματος.

Nicosia police on Thursday confirmed that they were investigating the alleged senseless killing of a dog in the Ayios Dhometios area.

According to Animal Aid Cyprus, an NGO, the culprit is a Georgian national who has a track record of animal abuse.

The latest incident, according to the NGO, occurred on Wednesday evening when the man allegedly shot a dog outside his residence.

The dog was fatally wounded, and could not be rescued in time by a neighbour who had heard the shot and rushed to the scene.

The dog was not even a stray, the NGO said on its Facebook account.

It said that on a previous occasion the same man had killed his own dog with a shovel. The incident was witnessed by several persons, including children.

The NGO called on residents to file a complaint to police and go on the record against the alleged perpetrator.
