Successful completion of the programme ‘LEAF Learning about forests’

KEANITA is a proud sponsor for the third consecutive year

With the participation of 1300 students from primary schools around Cyprus, this year’s activities of the international environmental programme ‘LEAF Learning about forests’, have been successfully completed. With the aim to raise awareness among children on the protection of the forests, ‘LEAF Learning about forests’ is organized in Cyprus by CYMEPA in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture and supported by KEANITA for the third consecutive year, within the framework of its CSR programme “KEANITA think green”.

Within the framework of the programme, a painting competition called on primary school students, to write and draw in teams of twos, their own interpretation of “the decalogue of the forest”, based on the information they received during the educational events organized by each school supported by KEANITA. Through their creations, students expressed their concerns and communicated important messages around the protection of the forests. The grand prize for the two winning teams, consisting of Charitini Mosfilou – Michaella Louka and Stavriana Alexandrou – Maria Christou, was an educational trip to Athens accompanied by their teachers and KEANITA representatives.

Returning from the trip, KEANITA Brand Manager Maria Odysseos stated: “As every year, we are amazed with the creativity and the sensitivity demonstrated by the students when it comes to environmental issues. As a responsible and conscious organization, KEAN with a long history of activities in support of the environment, and we are very proud for the huge success of this specific programme. The trip to Athens was a unique learning opportunity for the kids and a great reward for their efforts, combining education and entertainment. KEANITA will continue to engage children by creating opportunities for new environmental experiences and promoting an active healthy lifestyle close to nature.”

The ceremony where all participants, without any exception, will receive their awards will take place once again at the KEAN factory this coming June.
