An open library of jazz

If you are a fan of jazz you will surely know the Library Bar in Limassol offers a bluesy, jazzy kind of night every Wednesday.

It has been a year since this popular weekly event has been running, hosting nearly 60 shows to become the most regular and popular jazz event on the island.

Each week the house band – Irenaeos Koulouras on double bass, Ermis Michail on guitar and Stelios Xydias on the drums – are joined by not only local jazz musicians as some international musicians also take to the Library stage.

Some of the artists who have entertained this past year include Evelthon Michaelides on bass, Charis Ioannou on saxophone, and singers George Kalopedis and Sarah Fenwick.

The jazz events start at 9.30pm. The entertainment is free, with an occasional fee when international musicians are featured.

So if you haven’t already, like the Library Bar’s page on facebook to get notified about what you can expect to hear every Wednesday, and get ready for the bar’s second year of jazz events to jazz things up even more.
