Arrest after woman attacks police officer

A British woman was arrested at Paphos international airport for attacking a police officer, police said on Tuesday.

Aged 49, she allegedly created a scene and when an on duty officer asked her to quiet down. She allegedly then attacked him, scratching him.

Reports said she had arrived to Cyprus on Monday night and was having a heated argument with a taxi driver outside. Police were alerted and when arriving at the scene she reacted angrily attacking one of the officers.

Arrested on the spot, her case has been filed to court.
