Cyprus truly is an island fit for kings and queens with its beautiful landscapes, traditional villages and inviting beaches. Art may not be able to capture all its beauty but Demetris Vanezis has managed to capture its glory in his painting exhibition A Journey into the Beauty of Cyprus.
The exhibition, which will be opened tonight at Skali Anglanzia in Nicosia at 7.30pm, showcases 50 oil paintings which he produced over a period of three years.
As the title of the exhibition suggests, Vanezis travelled around the island with his easel, paints and brushes to capture the budding almond trees in fields leading to rocky mountains, a sea of tulips, traditional aspects of villages and coastal parts of the island.
Each oil painting shows an aspect of our island that makes up its culture, heritage, tradition and natural beauty.
