Taking kids through time

Soon school will be out, teachers will be happy to have a break and parents will most probably be looking for some educational activities that the kids can get involved in over the summer months.

One such educational programme that will run from July 4-15 will be the summer programme at the A.G. Leventis Gallery in Nicosia.

Under the name A Journey Through Time: Cyprus of Today and Yesterday, it will teach children from nine to 12 years old about the history of Cyprus and its cultural foundations, and all this in a fun and interactive way.

The interactive, multidisciplinary summer school will give children a chance to learn about Cypriot history and art through exploring the gallery’s Cyprus collection.

Packed with fun-filled activities, such as excursions – to the Cyprus Archaeological Museum and The Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia – arts and crafts, collage, pottery, yoga, photography, dancing and cooking, the two-week summer school programme is a unique opportunity for kids to have fun while gaining an introduction to the rich history of Cyprus.

The programme will run from 8.30am until 1.30pm and there are limited places so if you would like to get your kid involved in a chance to know their country in an imaginative and creative way, then send an email to [email protected] or call 22-668838 to book a place.
