Party for peace

The Praxis school of Wing Chun kung fu and meditation arts will be bringing in the summer on Saturday with a party for peace in Nicosia.

The idea behind this party is to give everyone the chance to try out kung fu and meditation for free, while also having the chance to listen to some great music and enjoy a party atmosphere.

The whole event will kick off at 3pm and go on until late. All through the day, Hong Kong-trained Wing Chun practitioners John and Heather Cogan will be around to meet and talk to all those who want to develop themselves. The organisers believe that once we develop ourselves we can develop the world around us, and make it a better place.

The day will offer a full line-up of activities for both kids and grown-ups, with live music played by DJ Johnny Blue on the decks for a two-hour set. So come prepared to work up a sweat, sample delicious eats and drinks and mix with some of the most enthusiastic and compassionate people around.

From 3pm until 5pm there will be a kids’ party for peace with arts and crafts, face painting, music and tasty treats. In the middle of all this fun, at 4pm, kids can also enjoy a free kung fu class while adults can enjoy a group meditation.

At 5pm everyone can pick up painting materials provided to create an Art Jam Peace Mural and enjoy great food and drinks provided by Get Fresh. A discussion and seminar by applied meditation teachers will follow at 7pm and at 8pm the real fun begins with a peace meditation entitled ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’, followed by a party with exotic drinks, delicious food and, of course, great vibes.
