Unemployment drops to 45-month low, Cystat says

The number of registered unemployed fell to 34,047, in May, 2,939 less compared to April, and to a seasonally adjusted 37,996, in both cases the lowest since September 2012, the statistical service said.

The number of registered unemployed in May dropped 14 per cent in a year, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Friday.

The decrease in the number of job seekers in May was mainly on a reduction of the number of registered unemployed in the area of construction by 1,222, in hotel and restaurants by 936, in trade by 794, manufacturing by 726, public administration by 656, and transport by 450, Cystat said.
