Running for green

Put your trainers on and start warming-up for the Dro.Me.A. Garmin 15km Green Race, in Troodos next Sunday.

For anyone who is a part of the running society, this race will be well-known as it is the seventh consecutive year it will be held.

The 15km race will start at 9am at the Troodos square, then follow the Troodos paths – with their breathtaking views of nature – and end in about two hours at the same place it started from.

The race will take part at the highest altitude in Cyprus and aims to raise awareness towards protecting Cyprus’ forests, as well as creating opportunities for social sport in the nature. This year the race also supports the Erasmus Plus action, Safe You which aims at raising awareness against the use of prohibited substances in sport.

If you are 18-years-old and over, you are eligible to take part in the 15km mountain race as it has an advanced degree of difficulty, both due to the mountainous terrain as well as the high altitude.

You can register on the day between 7.30am until 8.30am at Troodos square or online at
