Two men suspected of being burglars arrested in Paphos

Police in Paphos on Saturday night arrested two men aged 49 and 35 on suspicion of burglary after finding them carrying possible burglary tools in their bags.

The two men were stopped and searched walking along the road in Paphos. In the 35-year-old’s bag they said they found two torches, four screwdrivers, a pair of surgical gloves, three cutters and two coins – one gold and one likely an ancient artefact, they said.

In the 49-year-old’s bag they found a torch, three screwdrivers and a pair of gloves.

Police said the men could not give a satisfactory explanation for why they were carrying such tools and arrested them.
