Matthew Kidd to return as British High Commissioner

Matthew Kidd is to return to the post of British High Commissioner in Cyprus, after the departure of Ric Todd from the position for personal reasons, CNA reported on Monday.

Asked by CNA to comment a representative at the High Commission said: “The British ‘High Commissioner, Ric Todd, has left the position for personal reasons. Currently there is an ongoing process for appointing a new High Commissioner.”

CNA said that in the meantime Todd’s predecessor, Matthew Kidd who was High Commissioner from May 2010 to August 2014 would undertake the duties.

Todd submitted his credentials to the President Nicos Anastasiades in September 2014, following the departure of Kidd.
