A woman and a young man were injured in two separate incidents in Ayia Napa nightclubs early Sunday, police said.

A 41-year-old British woman reported to police that she was attacked at around 3am by an unknown compatriot in the Carwash discotheque. The attacker hit her in the face and fractured her nose, she claimed.

The woman, a permanent resident of Sotira, received first aid at Famagusta hospital and was released.

At around 4.30am a 23-year-old resident of Limassol was also injured in an Ayia Napa nightclub.

He reported that three or four unknown attackers beat him up while he was entertaining his friends.

Among other injuries he suffered from a fractured jaw. He was treated in Famagusta hospital before he was released.
