Ayia Napa honours tourists who have visited 30 times

A couple from the UK have been honoured by the mayor of Ayia Napa for visiting the resort 30 times.

Tony and Shirley Noon were handed a commemorative plaque for being ‘ambassadors for tourism’ by mayor Yiannis Karousos.

In a written statement, the mayor thanked the British guests for their preference of Ayia Napa. He bestowed the medal, he said “as a small token of appreciation for the practical love you have shown over the years to our city and its residents.”

The British tourists expressed their warm thanks, saying that “it is with joy and gratitude that we receive today from you that all-important distinction of the municipality, which honours us particularly.”

“The award by the mayor is another additional reason beyond the city’s beauty, hospitable people, the blue seas and golden beaches to visit Ayia Napa more often,” they added.
