Delegations from Paphos municipality, on the southwest coast of Cyprus, and Herzliya, on the central coast of Israel, met in Paphos in view of them becoming sister cities.
Mayors Faidonas Faidonos and Moshe Fadlon led the delegations and they discussed issues related to the twinning process. Faidonos said that the aim is to build cultural, economic and educational relationships with cities in neighboring countries and further contribute to the peace and stability in the region.
He added that Paphos has to gain a lot in the field of technology because Herzliya is a pioneer in this field.
Faidonas added that Paphos, with its rich history and culture, can contribute to the relationship.
Herzliya Mayor said that the two cities have lots in common and have much to gain from their enhanced relationship. He said that Herzliya can assist Paphos in the fields of technology and science.
During the meeting the delegations discussed specific ways for a productive and effective cooperation in the fields of new technologies, tourism, culture and entrepreneurship.
