The coming together of cultures

On the occasion of World Refugee Day 2016, Future Worlds Centre and the UNHCR Representation in Cyprus are organising a street festival in Faneromeni square in the old town of Nicosia.

The event will include traditional food prepared by refugees from Syria, Palestine, Iran, Cameroon, Yemen, Ethiopia, Egypt and Lebanon, an arts and crafts exhibition by Cypriot and refugee artists, world music, and a kid’s corner.

The festival aims to celebrate the contribution of refugees to Cypriot society and to present the richness that can come from combining cultures.
